About our Speakers:
Ryan Hastings is the Manager of Entertainment Contracts and Local Administration in the Washington-Mid Atlantic Local of the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation for Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). Prior affiliations include: Actors’ Equity Association (AEA), Blue Man Group, Northwestern University, Youth Outreach Services, and Emerald City Theatre Company. He received his B.A. in Theatre and Classical Civilizations from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina and studied with the European Network of Research and Documentation of Performances of Ancient Greek Drama, The Second City, and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Ryan also currently serves on the board of the Maryland Film Industrial Coalition.
Brad Greenspan: Brad began working as a field representative for Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Local 798, IATSE in early 2023. Upon graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography in 2007, he pursued his passion for filmmaking by working as a camera assistant on feature films, streaming series, and commercials. After joining IATSE Local 600 in 2011, Brad immersed himself in the union, helping fellow members understand the contracts under which they worked. He has served as an alternate to the national executive board from 2016-2019 and as co-chair of the Young Workers Committee in Los Angeles from 2017-2019. Brad now lives with his wife and their cat in Columbia, MD, and is continuing his work on behalf of IATSE members in Local 798 throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
David O’Ferrall - David is currently the Business Agent for Local 487, I.A.T.S.E. . His responsibilities include the negotiation of agreements, enforcement of those agreements, assist productions in crewing and to engage the State Legislatures on issues important to the motion picture and television industry such as tax incentives. He has worked as a Special Representative and Secretary/Treasurer for the Local since 1992 and has been Business Agent since 2011. Prior to working for the Local he worked multiple crew positions on motion picture and television productions. He holds a J.D. from the University Of Baltimore School of Law and a B.S. in Mass Communications from Towson University.
